Transformation (2022)

Alexey Mikhailov's solo exhibition, "Transformation," is dedicated to the theme of personal development through overcoming internal crises. A crisis can lead to a partial loss of identity, the personality dissolves in the problem, and we lose our sense of self-worth. However, faith in a bright future allows us to find strength for the future. The exhibition consists of small series. Two series, "Crises" and "Dreams," are presented as antipodes, like yin and yang, as the dark and light sides of personal development. The exhibition features portraits and self-portraits made using long exposure techniques, pulsed light, and collage.
The project was implemented as part of the State Scholarship for Outstanding Cultural and Art Figures with the support of the Union of Art Photographers of Russia.
